It happened rather suddenly at the end of a standard Herbology class. However, even the brightest angels have inner demons. To the untrained eye or those who did not know her, the young Hufflepuff was the envy of just about everyone in Hogwarts. Another factor was involved, one unspoken of mostly but certainly whispered by many of the boys in her year: Penny Haywood was extraordinarily beautiful, the radiant personally only matched by soft, shiny blonde hair and bright blue eyes that sparkled like sapphires in a fountain. So while she enjoyed gossip, none of it carried any malicious intent. The kindly demeanor exhibited daily created a sense of trust among her peers that they could tell her anything. Among other things she was a brilliant potioneer, so talented in the subject that even the perpetually miserable Professor Snape tolerated her presence. But her accomplishments stood out in her own right. Though the sibling of an ex-student once thought to be mad, the bravery displayed earned the mutual respect and liking of the student body. Adventuring with David Grant certainly played a factor in that equation. Though only in third year, it was no secret to anyone how well liked she was. While some would suggest it was disingenuous (“No one’s that happy,” Merula would often sass behind her back) the thirteen year old Hufflepuff had come to be proud of the fact she embodied the traits of her house: hard work, loyalty, and above all, kindness. “A bright little ball of sunshine you are” her dad would often say. Penny Haywood considered herself a fairly happy person- upbeat, engaging, and always ready to lend a hug or helping hand when someone required it. My submission for the It was definitely intense to write.

Using the Tree for Timing: The Lenormand Tree card meaning for timing is 5 days. Self-contained units used to time automotive engines have an inductive pickup that clamps around the proper spark plug wire and serves as the trigger for the strobe. Timing lights using xenon strobe lamps electronically triggered by the spark provide brighter light, allowing use of the timing lamp under normal shop lighting or daylight conditions.Ī timing light may be a self-contained instrument, but is sometimes combined with a voltmeter, RPM meter, and a dwell angle meter, or may be incorporated into a more comprehensive instrument such as an engine analyser. Simple timing lights may just contain a neon lamp operated by the energy provided by the ignition circuit. In few cases an engine is timed off another cylinder, such as the International Harvester V8 engines, which use #8, and the Isuzu 4Z series four-cylinder, which is timed off the #4 cylinder, or the 3 cylinder Saab two-stroke engine which is timed on the middle (#2) cylinder. On most automotive engines, the timing is set based on the #1 cylinder. Find Sun Inductive Timing Light Model CP-7501 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, US, for US 25. The website the browser has to load has a larger impact on the perceived performance than anything the browser itself does. I think none of the older Firefox versions would still be quick today if they were confronted with today’s JavaScript-heavy bloated websites. After jumping ship from Firefox, I first went with Ungoogled Chromium and later with Brave. Some other incidents like Cliqz experiment, Mr Robot extension, ever new invasive telemetry and other FF experiments, lousy privacy defaults seldom improving, and other aspects didn’t help, either. Mozilla killed off those extensions, and I stopped using Firefox as my primary browser. No idea what the issues are, but any of the above (or a combination of them) could realistically be have been a FF user for many years, I came to like it in the past for the user-friendliness customizing it, but since perhaps around after FF 35 or so it started to go downhill by bloating and increasing it’s attack vector surface (as most browsers actually) etc so I quite recently tried what is supposed to be perhaps some of the “best” versions of Chromium based browsers, namely Brave, but it has been a buggy path, too many extensions have issues, and when using the Tor mode it disables all extensions of which some are really crucial in keeping the browser safe and somewhat private, I don’t know what is better but Brave is so far not the answer either.Īnyhow, I updated only very recently after having used a couple of years old FF version to 83 and now just updated to 84, and I must say latest FF feels quite nimble and solid, and certainly doesn’t pale in comparison to Brave in any way although it requires lots if tweaks, but none of these “modern” browsers are as quick as the very old FF versions such as 17 ESR, 24 ESR, they were and still are speed-monster in comparison, I just some times wish someone could take the code from 17 ESR and add latest cryptology to TLS 1.3 and update other things like JS engine etc.Īnd then we have Palemoon, probably the most sane choice although even I barely use it but perhaps should, it simply works and is fast enough, but I guess IH hates PM simply because of personal issues with the PM team? was actually a Firefox user until 2017 (before their migration to WebExtensions), because powerful extensions like Tab Mix Plus which really made my life easier made me stay with it. – Not getting as much outside contributions compared as e.g. – The hard deadlines on a 4 weeks release schedule(!) being too inflexible. – Them trying to cram too many features into new milestones. – Relying too heavily on telemetry – telemetry sometimes doesn’t cover the wider scope of why e.g. – Inadequate quality assurance, relying too heavily on machine testing. We could theorize on why their releases tend to have beta quality these days, some causes could be: Mozilla is fully in control of the development effort including engine development, they have no excuses. Because Vivaldi adds rather major modifications to Chromium compared to Chrome, Edge, Brave etc., it is more prone to breakage, as a result of them having to use Google’s code while also wanting to maintain their ambitious UI effort. Vivaldi’s UI is a special layer on top of Chromium which seems to break with every single new major release of Chromium, and they have to fix the breakage causes in time as to not fall behind. It can still happen occasionally, but with Mozilla, it happens all the time.Ĭompare this to how Chromium is being released: Major release, later 1 – 2 security updates for that major release, then next major release. Why? Because you can expect an emergency fix within days after each major release… Emergency fixes are only rolled out when a problem is both obvious and fairly widespread, and such problems are usually caught in the beta phase. Think the way Mozilla manages releases is indeed indicative of my “their stable is actually their beta” theory. Monitoring of the change in muscle thickness during contractions would be a useful tool to assess the muscle contractile properties. The skeletal muscle is considered as a near-constant volume system therefore, the changes in muscle length due to contractions are paralleled by the changes in muscle thickness. For instance, the assessment of muscle helps in investigating the muscle fatigue, diagnosing the neuromuscular diseases, evaluating the progression of treatment and rehabilitation, evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of physical training, estimating the injury risks, and controlling the prosthetic devices. The measurement of changes in the muscle physical parameters during contractions provides valuable information. The analysis of the skeletal muscle mechanical characteristics is of great interest for a wide range of medical applications. The WUS and ultrasonic method proposed in this study could be a valuable tool for inexpensive, non-invasive, and continuous monitoring of the skeletal muscle contractile properties. In addition, the unfused and fused tetanus frequencies were estimated from the obtained FI-EMS frequency curve. In addition, the contractile parameters ( T h, T c, V c, T s, and T r) were successfully extracted from the measured tissue thickness changes. The tetanic progression level was quantitatively assessed using the parameter of the fusion index (FI) obtained. The developed WUS demonstrated the capability to monitor the tissue thickness changes during the unfused and fused tetanic contractions. The tissue thickness changes due to the muscle contractions were measured by utilizing a time-of-flight method in the ultrasonic through-transmission mode. The GC muscle contractions were evoked by the electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) at varying EMS frequencies from 2 Hz up to 30 Hz. The developed WUS was employed to monitor the contractions of gastrocnemius (GC) muscle of a human subject. A flexible, lightweight, thin, and small size WUS would provide a secure attachment to the skin surface without affecting the muscle contraction dynamics of interest. The developed WUS was made of double-layer polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric polymer films with a simple and low-cost fabrication process. This paper presents a single-element wearable ultrasonic sensor (WUS) and a method to measure the skeletal muscle contractile parameters in A-mode ultrasonic data acquisition. Assessment of the skeletal muscle contractile parameters such as maximum contraction thickness ( T h), contraction time ( T c), contraction velocity ( V c), sustain time ( T s), and half-relaxation ( T r) provides valuable information for various medical applications. The research will be divided into three areas: experimentation, simulation, and "laser driver and system studies.Skeletal muscle is considered as a near-constant volume system, and the contractions of the muscle are related to the changes in tissue thickness. The following 160 character C program, written by Dik T. It can compute the Nth hexadecimal digit of Pi efficiently without the previous N-1 digits. This is how the Chudnovsky's have computed several billion decimals.Īn interesting new method was recently proposed by David Bailey, Peter Borwein and Simon Plouffe. This is why the constant 8k_4k_5 appearing in the denominator has been written this way instead of 262537412640768000. The great advantages of this formula are thatġ) It converges linearly, but very fast (more than 14 decimal digits per term).Ģ) The way it is written, all operations to compute S can be programmed very simply. It is the following (slightly modified for ease of programming): This gives a number of beautiful formulas, but the most useful was missed by Ramanujan and discovered by the Chudnovsky's. The disadvantage is that you need FFT type multiplication to get a reasonable speed, and this is not so easy to program.Ī third one comes from the theory of complex multiplication of elliptic curves, and was discovered by S. For instance, to obtain 1 000 000 decimals, around 20 iterations are sufficient. you double the number of decimals per iteration. They have the advantage of converging quadratically, i.e. In 1719, the French mathematician Thomas Fantet de Lagny had. A beautiful compendium of such formulas is given in the book pi and the AGM, (see references). In 1665, the scientist Sir Issac Newton had calculated the value of pi up to 16 decimal places. So, for any value of N, the count of N-digit palindromes will be 9 10(N 1) / 2. This gives about 1.4 decimals per term.Ī second is to use formulas coming from Arithmetic-Geometric mean computations. Approach: The first digit can be any of the 9 digits (not 0) and the last digit will have to be same as the first in order for it to be palindrome, the second and the second last digit can be any of the 10 digits and same goes for the rest of the digits. One of the oldest is to use the power series expansion of atan(x) = x - x^3/3 + x^5/5. There are essentially 3 different methods to calculate pi to many decimals. The current record is held by Yasumasa Kanada and Daisuke Takahashi from the University of Tokyo with 51 billion digits of pi (51,539,600,000 decimal digits to be precise). I'm not going to go into the lowest level details, but it is important to understand the basics of how TLS works. Everything we're going to talk about here is really about TLS - the HTTP within is just normal GET / requests and 200 OK responses. How HTTPS trust worksĪn HTTPS request is an HTTP request, made over a TLS connection. Let's talk though how HTTPS clients in general manage this kind of trust, see how that works on Android specifically, and then look at how it's possible to get around this and intercept real HTTPS traffic. To do so, it has to automatically ensure that it's trusted by HTTPS clients on Android devices, without breaking security on those devices completely (it would be a very bad idea to simply turn off certificate validation, for example). This isn't theoretical - HTTP Toolkit does exactly this, automatically intercepting HTTPS from real Android devices, for inspection, testing & mocking. If you want to intercept your own HTTPS on Android, perhaps to capture & rewrite traffic from your Android device for debugging or testing, how do you do that? To intercept, inspect or manipulate HTTPS traffic, you need the HTTPS client to trust you.
